ASUS in, Samsung out for next Nexus 10?

A new leak suggests that ASUS could replace Samsung as Google's hardware partner to manufacture the successor to the Nexus 10. According to a tweet from @Rage06, which was then retweeted by leaker extraordinaire1 @evleaks, a PC World inventory lists an “ASUS NEXUS 10,” seemingly confirming that the Taiwanese manufacturer will indeed be making the next-generation version of the not-so-popular Google tablet. The inventory listing also confirms the device's price in the UK to be £349.99. However, this does go against Sundar Pichai's statement at the launch of the new Nexus 7 early this year, where he confirmed that Samsung is working on the next Nexus 10. It's possible he was merely referring to a variant2 that adds mobile data connectivity, and with only two months to go before the original Nexus 10's first birthday, it's not long before we'll find out who Google is teaming up with this time. Who would you guys prefer to make the new Nexus 10? |
